I dunno man. While I like 4.x in terms of presentation and quality of life, the narrative hasn't really grabbed me outside of side stuff (beast tribe, Doma restoration, etc.) so I really do it builds hype 5.0

Well, we already are finished with the Doma stuff, plus we had the stuff at the end of the 4.3 MSQ. So we're definitely gonna get some juicy stuff in 4.4 towards us going to Garlemald, and possibly kicking Ascian butt.

This is definitely the caveat so far, and I really hope this is handled well instead of trying to portray all Garleans as comically evil as they did with Zenos

They've already stated that that is not the case - we are already aware of a more peaceful/diplomatic faction of garleans called the Populares - who Alphinaud is in part going to discuss things with.

Yes and while I hope this truly is the case, how they made Asahi so ridiculous in his hate boner/evil motives dashes my hopes. Now of course I understand that he had lots of baggage, and they have definitely written more complicated Garleans (Nero of course being a prime example) but the writing lately has been played so straight that I'm still worried nonetheless. Of course if I'm wrong about this I'll be quite happy, because I would like nothing more than the story to reach the quality of the 3.x story again

Don't forget Regula, and the one garlean that takes Alphinaud to Garlemald in the first place. Or even Gaius(who truly had well intentions, he just believed the ends justifies the means).

We'll be inter-clan twins! Sometimes I recreate my character exactly as she is but as a Xaela in the character creator and she looks pretty good but the name I already use for everything is a perfect fit for the Raen lore >_>; and I guess I kinda wanted to go for the angelic-looking kind of character so there's that too.

One... final?... question: Do you usually feel like you're coming out of dungeons/raids with a new item that you can use for something? I've realized that in the last two MMOs I've played the dungeons weren't really satisfying since it was just people rushing through them (so I can't experience the story) and then I wind up with some junk.

Alright I am so sorry for bugging everyone with my questions, this is literally longer than I've deliberated when buying cars fml.

I enjoy the experience. Dungeons are varied and mostly fun. Items are secondary concern to me unless it's a rare-ish drop to roll on like a Miniature or Mount.

I really want to go for all this cool level 50 equipment, but I know it will all (or mostly) be obsolete by the time I get to HW and certainly not worth the effort. Especially for three jobs plus all crafting and gathering classes.

Before I was level capped, I went in for gear and experience.

After I was level capped, I go in for gear to trade for grand company seals, glamour items, and the chance at rare drops such as minions.

Well that's something at least. There's just so much gear I want and it's a bit overwhelming considering I know I can get something better soon. And I'm not getting poetics or seals fast enough atm to justify spending them.

I use poetics to buy unidentified shells and um another thing that I trade for the 2 soils for gardening, one gives bigger crop yield other higher chance for crossbreeding.

That feel when you want to continue leveling up your gatherers to 50 but you need to level up your main class to unlock more levequests >_>;

Unlocking leves was the sole reason I advanced the MSQ (to level up) a couple times.

Yeah, I'll end up doing that too. But, in order to put it off as long as possible... :P I'll leave my MIN and BTN where they are right now (both level 43) and focus on getting CUL to 37, and then I'll get all the other remaining DoH/DoL classes to [at least] 35 (because that's the level of my main class) and continue leveling them together with my main job. By then it's very likely MIN and BTN have gained some more levels since I'll keep doing the Grand Company supply and provisioning missions on a daily basis :)

My goal is to finish A Realm Reborn with SMN/SCH and all DoH/DoL classes at level 50.

Are you me?

I went ahead and bought SB too so I wouldn't waste exp since my DoH classes are all 52-54 already. I also want to spend some time increasing my beast tribe reputations and squadron stuff since I just unlocked those, but that will take weeks.
