Authorities say three Arkansas officers were injured when they attempted to arrest a man who was under the influence of methamphetamine and LSD.

Police say it ultimately took nine officers to subdue and handcuff 36-year-old Kelly Jendeski late Thursday at an apartment complex in Goshen, in northwest Arkansas.

A Goshen police captain and two Elkins officers were hurt when Jendeski charged them after stepping out of an apartment.

A stun gun was twice used on Jendeski but had little effect.

He was given sedatives once he was in custody and then given another round of sedatives after being taken to a hospital.

He was being held Saturday at the Washington County jail on charges that include second-degree battery.

Online jail records don't indicate whether he has an attorney to speak on his behalf.

Not true. Truth is we don't know and can only go by anecdotal evidence, which is obviously not reliable.

Edit: I take back my first sentence. It may or may not be true. We have no way of knowing.

Wrong. The FBI literally collects the info on all police involved shootings which includes sex and race of suspect. They then post it online. It's not anecdotal evidence and there is a way of knowing by simply looking at the list and seeing more w/m are shot by police than b/m.

If you want to collate through all the cases and figure where each person lived, go right ahead. That's not what the statements I was replying to were referring to. End of the day, 445 white men were shot by police in 2016, while 223 black men were that same year.

White Americans make up about 75% of the population, non-hispanic whites make up 60%
Black Americans make up 12% of the population

Meaning mathematically? More white guys get shot but proportionately the amount is way lower.

Now if we want to get into populations with regard to being approached by the police, you might have a point but that point would be tossed out in light of statistically verified enforcement of laws being far stricter and frequent on people of color than white people.

Wrong because raw numbers do not compare the actual circumstances of the shooting. Nice try, though.

Not sure you want to play the mathematics game but I'm game. 2016's Table 43 isn't up, so stuck using 2015's. https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2015/crime-in-the-u.s.-2015/tables/table-43
Let's take murder. Pretty much as bad as it gets.
8,508 Murders/Non negligent homicide
Black Americans make up "12% pop"---4,347 arrested and charged
White Americans make up "75% pop"---3,908 arrested and charged

Black people are more likely to live in poverty and poverty creates crime. What do you want the cops to do?

"Well there is definitely some crime going on in this neighborhood. However, the likelihood of poverty would be lower if not for past racial discrimination. Therefore, we're just not going to enforce the laws here."
