My initial reaction is that deportation is a government program, and therefore its done as badly as any other government program in the US.

Im all for finding a way to deport families in one piece. The asylum side of it is sad, but it really isnt the US taxpayers responsibility to house, cloth, feed, and educate all of the children in the 3rd world. We shouldnt make an exception for the families that come to our doorstep. If you want to help people, the are charitable options for you to do so with your own time and money.

What does the ability that a US Citizen sponsor his parents or siblings have to do with your boy separating families or illegals?

You people just don't like legal immigration

What good this even serve? Who the fuck benefits from children being torn from their families and locked in interment camps and tent cities?

No one defending this shit can answer this

It serves as an example of the consequences to people who would be illegally enter this nation either by crossing the border or overstaying their visa. Although personally I rather children not get involved. But their parents probably should have considered that before breaking the law.

So it benefits no one because theyre running away from terrible circumstances and now the US is making things worse

Thats all made up BS. Its just a way to get free stuff from the US get off your soapbox.

Imagine how bad someones situation is if theyre willing to risk this.

That would require the ability to put themselves in someone else's shoes.

But aren't we all God's children? Why do people only care about the human rights of their own people and not the whole world?

We're such hypocrites, us humans. We like to pretend we're all noble, but turn a blind eye away from things happening outside our backyard.

for fucks sake....do some math. america cannot afford to under any circumstance, especially given it's 20+ trillion in debt, and it's own economic and social problems on top of that, to cloth feed and take care of the entire freaking planet.

if we keep on taking in the entire third world into america, america will literally become the third world. and call me selfish....but i like not living in a third world country.

the solution is simple.

put up a border, guard the border, and as per the families? send them all back together. its that simple. and get rid of the whole anchor baby nonsense too.

america needs to deal with it's own shit right now, and we already have tons of illegals here that need be dealt with without bringing in even more. but then again....maybe thats the whole point. maybe liberals want to turn america into the third world.

Call me evil, but I am not too sympathetic.

When I see people on my facebook feed saying America in 2018 is Nazi Germany unironically, I worry more about those loonies as they will try to shape America to be their own idealistic envision of what they believe America should be. A land without true freedom, trying too hard to be the "morally-good" country, but in that, it becomes its own totalitarian government.

I won't call you evil, but nothing about your post makes any sense at all. Do you have any understanding of the issue being discussed?

As I said, call me evil. Of course I don't want minorities to be discriminated against. Also, I believe people should have the right to say whatever, just expect the consequences of your actions to be dealt in return. People like Roseanne deserved what happened to them for saying stupid things like that.

Also, considering I am Mexican myself, I surely don't see them as inferior.

Yeah you deserve consequences for your words. You basically deserve to be told your arguments are terrible and you don't understand very basic logic.

Actually there is a possibility of that happening. A significant percentage of 3rd world immigrants (not specifically referring to illegal immigrants) end up relying on some sort of government assistance. Combining that with the fact that Latin America includes economies that have collapsed under the weight of their own social spending multiple times, do you think those people will generally vote for bigger government or smaller government? Will they call for bigger deficits or smaller deficits? We don't have magic soil that makes people suddenly respect property rights. (Edit: Not to overstate how much non-immigrant Americans respect property rights. A bunch of old "small government" conservatives will still say "Don't touch my Social Security" knowing full well that it has devolved into nothing more than inter-generational theft.)

A more extreme example would be Western and Southern Europe where economic migrants shop for welfare by country. Economies in countries like Italy, Spain, and Greece will collapse from excess social spending. It's not all because of economic migrants, but it won't be pretty when a bunch of communities that rely on welfare suddenly lose it all overnight.

this

and it's not even just what you said, you cannot just transplant a bunch of people from third world poverty stricken areas and magically expect to not only incorporate into THE first world country, but then maintain it. it's delusional to think this.

plus the attitude that america cannot transform into a third world country is so arrogantly cocky, it defies all reason and common sense. even Rome fell.

america, and really most western countries that accepting huge floods of immigrants, are facing massive problems. since america is so huge, the problems are more isolated, but look at CA, it's basically turned into the third world in certain areas. these immigrants come over and bring with them their culture, and their culture isn't always compatible with 1st world ideals.

Seeking asylum isnt a crime

Not if you do it legal.

If you enter the country illegally and go right to asking for asylum that's still a legal way to ask for asylum.

You really think they were searching for the nearest border patrol station when they got picked up. also most of them are from central america and crossed all the way through mexico before getting here. Why not ask for asylum there instead of here?
