Those were technical limitations that we have thankfully moved past, not artistic decisions that make games better. Resident Evil didn't get bad for a while because the games evolved past 1997. They got bad because they were poorly made. This is weird nostalgia. Looks like it has plenty of horror too, the game looks creepy. I played RE1 back in the day and it was amazing but 20 years later I want something with better controls, and camera angles. The remakes should be modernized.
