Just learned that one of the players from last year's championship finals game killed himself last night.

They were just talking about it on the discord server.

I'm kind of shocked.

Apparently they were told the news by someone on another site's discord, and the people there confirmed they spoke to his IRL friends and that it happened last night.

I don't think MU is used to this happening like we are. I scrolled up and saw chatlogs from like a week ago where he said he was gonna do it - I had no idea, hadn't seen it - people were supportive and encouraged him to get help. I feel if it was on board 8 we would have like, mobilized and facebook stalked and called family and cops or something - so my first reaction is to be a bit angry that people didn't do that - but I know that's not rational and people were under no obligation to do that and it probably wouldn't have helped and it sounds like (from the little people have said) that people he knew IRL were aware anyway.

I'm sad because, well, it was a really intense game and an unforgettable experience and I value every person that I played with during those games last year and I know I'm never going to forget any of them and I never imagined something like this would happen.

I don't really wanna talk about it with anyone over there, idk what I'd say, so I guess that's why I'm posting here.

Most people on the internet don't take it seriously, oftentimes effectively due to being conditioned not to.

Yeah we are a fairly tight community and we take things more seriously. You cant expect everyone to be wiling to give that kind of help and support, a lot of people just arent set up for it. Like I have had friends IRL sit with me and say they want to commit suicide and you are kind of in shock and at a loss for words some time. And lets be real a lot of people online can be socially akward and just not know how to communicate well.

Its a shame and sorry to hear that they went that route, but cant depend on others to lift someone up. And even then some people cant be talked off the ledge. If he was here maybe we could have helped but its what it is

Personally my depression has been getting so bad that I am forcing myself to go to councilling through my work and may be taking a short term disability break to get my shit together. I guess what I am saying is I was specifically close to being in that guys shoes today. I have made all the calls and connections needed and am not going to be alone at all, so dont worry. I know suicide is a pretty sensitive topic on gamefaqs when it comes to personal experience, and I hope this post is not enough to warrant moderation. But yea, I am always open to listen if you need to talk.

2 kids and I know. That's why I called my boss today. I unfortunately dont have anyone in real life that i can really talk to that can help despite how much they would try. When I had called my boss he explained how he actually has a really good friend going through similar feelings. Made me feel better knowing that he actually gets it. Anyways he told me to come in close to 4hrs later than I was scheduled so we could get this dealt with as soon as HR is in.

I strongly encourage everyone whoever feels in a bad spot to pm someone to talk to. I am always open to talking to someone if they feel they need someone. I would be a liar if I said I never tried to talk to someone when I felt bad. And, while many did not lend a ear, there always was at least one person who was willing to. Sometimes it comes from the places you least expect. Never think nobody cares.

Power roles can only act once, but you can vote to reset back to day 1 and power roles can act again, but so can scum. If 3 days go by without a reset vote, scum wins.

As i explained previously, my being convinced of you hinged on your interaction with scare and the fact that scare was not killed on night 2.

1) you and scare had your little doctor interaction on day 2.

2) scare was not killed on night 2.

3) therefore foolmo could not have been scum.

At this point my belief is that scare was doctor and that you and i knew about it.

Come to find out that scare claims backup instead of doctor.

And then zam claims doctor.

And then zam claims to have saved Scare on the very same night where his survival convinced me of your innocence.

Do you see how that pokes a potential hole in the reason why i was convinced about you? Especially since we knew there was a scum extra kill at some point that we never saw evidence of.

Lying doctor is a hard sell though. I've definitely seen it work in certain cases but it's rare. But lying scanner can often work out. Protip: don't lie about your watcher role being super weak because apparently that is grounds for being lynched.

In this scenario you would have tried and failed to kill scare on night 2, either confirming for you that town had a second protection, or that scare was lying with his insinuated protection. (You might at this point suspect his hints were just him drawing a shot as town bp) Either way if you tried and failed n2 you don't shoot scare again n3 or until you know why you failed.

And while there were other reasons to think you were town, but Zam's lie nullified my hard guarantee that you couldnt possibly be scum.

The amount im willing to do to defend "probably town" is much much less than the lengths i would go for "couldn't possibly be scum in this universe or any other".

why though? I'm thinking if you ran the numbers on that, town's chances of winning go down if they lynch a mod confirmed survivor day 1. It accomplishes nothing toward town's win condition and scum can coast.

Because any time you don't have clear scum you lynch the guy who votes with scum to win. It is common sense. Survivor ever claiming survivor at a non Mylo situation is braindead. And if people are unsure. Survivor CAN NEVER NOT VOTE WITH SCUM to give scum numbers to win. It is automatic

I think people would definitely vote to kill the survivor D1 out of fear of mislynching. Easy way for scum to coast too. And if the survivor was someone like me they'd definitely be too full of taunts, chaos and quips to avoid getting murdered.

Lynching the survivor takes away a vote scum needs to win earlier. Any town that doesn't lynch a claimed survivor over any non guarranteed scum Lynch is playing terrible.
