I only saw the trailer that's on the trending page on youtube. Don't know anything about the game. It just looked really polished and ambitious. Most Western games are just half-assed cash grabs these days

Not really. I don't play games that much anymore and Nintendo is the only company that tries to make the best games they can (botw, mario odyssey etc)

I lost interest in other devs when most of them went to shit

Are you being ironic? Nintendo rehash the same few IPs again and again and never innovate or push technology forward, only nose dive into gimmicky Wii shit.

Combat was great except for the breaking weapon model, I didn't care for that.

But the combat was pretty open ended every time you walked into a fight. Could do whatever you wanted and the controls were tight and accurate.

They didn't even try to make W3 combat good.

BOTW combat was very much polished.

I think it's generating too much hype. They're allowing the gamers (us) the ability to imagine what combat, the world, the interaction and gameplay will look like. That isn't good. Who here is thinking that it will play like Just Cause? What about GTA? Deus Ex? We each go down our own road on what the game will be, and when actual gameplay is revealed... well, good luck keeping that hype.

This. The trailer recently shown and what I imagined in my head are two totally different things. A lot of of people complaining that Cyberpunk 2077 looks too bright and colorful. I think people expected a more Blade Runner like setting than what we got. Even the guy who is considered the father of cyberpunk doesn't think the game looks cyberpunk enough.

This. Cyberpunk the RPG has always been more punk than grit. You don't have to like it, but it isn't a shift or out of place for the IP.

I am in a similar boat where I have less time to game and most games do not interest me enough to commit time to it and I have preferred Nintendo games, so I am primarily interested in their polished first party games.

Yes, however, many people are not familiar with the board game at all. Many people's only experience with cyberpunk is something like Blade Runner or Altered Carbon. Factoring in the teaser trailer shown years ago, it's fair for people to say it's not what they expected or it doesn't feel like the cyberpunk they are used to. No one is shitting on the game or denouncing it from what I've seen. People are just stunned at how different it looks to what they are used to or what they have imagined.

...yes. I said everyone is entitled to their opinion but his is factually false. Its fine to say you don't have enough time to game now and Nintendo is what primarily interests you, but to do so, predicated on the "fact" that everything else has gone to shit, is just patently a wrong, factually incorrect opinion. Everyone gets one...doesn't mean they can't be wrong.
