It's been 19 years since Disney released Mulan, about a brave female Chinese warrior that went on to be a hit in 1998...

Now they have finally found their live action adaptation hero in Chinese actress Liu Yifei, also known as Crystal Liu!!

The 31 y/o beat out 1000 other actresses across five continents as Liu is a popular movie star in her native China but is fluent in both Chinese and English

She previously starred in The Chinese Widow and The Forbidden Kingdom

The movie is about a young girl who disguises herself as her father in order to enlist in the army.

Disney wanted to find a chinese girl who could speak english AND have martial arts and sword fighting skills and Liu fit all of those qualities.

They also casted her love interest who will be played by New Zealand actor 25 y/o Yoson An, a relative newcomer

The movie will released in 2020
