time I ready Naruto (finishing part 1) I found characters to have less personality and fight scenes definitely weren't as good as the anime. I've just been getting into comics lately, and prefer them to shows in general.

Cool! Naruto starts out alright then goes back for a while. It still has some great parts here and there but they're sometimes few and far between.

The action sequences probably make more sense in the anime. At any rate, starting Naruto from the beginning is just painful because they overexplain everything and then repeat those explanations.
