The ideals, not the men, but the ideals America were founded on have always pushed us forward through all the mistakes and struggles we have faced. The men who helped found and then have led our country throughout history are flawed but the ideals of individual liberty and freedom are pure and always shone through at the end of the day. The reason I think those times are great is mainly because of the entertainment and technology advances that happened during those times, although legislation like the Civil Rights Act definitely helped. America was founded on individual liberty and freedom, as said above, and more of that will always improve the country. Why does my estimate stop before the internet got big? The internet is like a double-edged sword. It has obviously helped society in a lot of ways but it has hurt society in a lot of ways too.
