Nah, it's pretty obviously a Rust/Ark/Conan Exiles-style multiplayer survival game. Uses the building mechanics from FO4.
I mean, the backstory of Vault 76 is too spot-on for it to be anything else.

Yeah, I'll play it. It'll be worth it to see how they do the setting if nothing else. Being only 20 years after the nukes fell it should be interesting. Ghouls aren't a thing yet (at least not as we know them now), mutations in animals just beginning, no settlements considering we are the first settlers.

Most of the rumors would point towards Fallout Online equivalent to TES Online. Likely taking some inspiration from the Battle Royale fad by including some PvP wasteland action and the rest being just a Fallout themed MMORPG that doesn't really fall into the main series just like TES:O doesn't. Plus they might be seeing opportunity for microtransactions over full expansions that take much more work and make much less money relative to the effort.

It likely has no bearing on TES 6 or Fallout 5 and had a separate independent team working on it while they continued work on likely TES 6.
