Mayor Ernie Troiano however has DEFENDED the officers and said that SHE was the aggressor and that "women can be harder to take control into custody than men"!! He said "I worked as a doorman, a bouncer. They can be hard to control. They're kicking, they don't care. Everybody's trying to paint this young lady as an upstanding model citizen. She's on probation for 4 years. She chose to attack the officer, spit on the officer. Look i don't care who you are and what you are, the worst people to try to subdue are WOMEN. We're not dealing with an angel here, she chose to take on the police. The police did their job" Emily said that she was spitting sand out of her mouth after they dug her head into the sand. She now faces 2 counts of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The officer who punched her however is reassigned to admin duty during the investigation. The video showed her being subdued while an officer punching her head twice with a closed first and yelling "stop resisting" while she said "I'm not resisting. I didn't do anything wrong" She went to the beach with her family and a friend as a baby was heard screaming..which is her 18 MONTH OLD CHILD!! She said it started when the cops approached her on her 4 wheeler and asked for their ages because they had alcohol of which wasn't hers but since it was memorial day weekend, 90% of the people there drinking were underage. The officers then said they were going to arrest her as she backed up and yelled for her boyfriend. She then tripped and fell and the cop TACKLES her to the ground and smashed her head into the sand and started punching her. She did a breathalyzer earlier and it came back negative but she believes the officers were trying to "stir the pot" just to arrest someone. Her attorney has called it appalling and irresponsible for the officers to make that arrest and to punch her as she plans to counter sue.
