What a number of people have said on GameFAQs, is that it's more powerful than either the XBox or PS4, but not immensely powerful, presumably because of it's small size.

What my own opinion is, at least so far, is that the graphics are about the same or slightly better than the XBox One or PS4, and the PS5 and XBox Two are probably going to be considerably more powerful. I must admit, the graphics have disappointed me. They're only slightly better, at best, than the Wii U (and the other 8th gen consoles). Some games, like Sonic Forces, look like strong 7th gen or weak 8th gen games, which is pathetic (and very surprising from Sonic Team, who sometimes do cutting edge graphics, such as the original Sonics, SA2, Sonic Unleashed, etc). I'm not saying the gameplay of Switch games isn't a lot of fun, because it often is, and the library so far is general pretty good, but...I dunno. I wouldn't've minded the Switch being a little bigger, and hard to use in a portable way, if it meant the graphics were better.

Thoughts on all this?

I have no issues with the switch beyond a lack of games that interest me.

Nintendo always makes the most of their hardware with their own games, which generally have smart art direction and bright colors. Compare tech specs and ports though, and it's apparent that the Switch is weaker than the PS4 and XBox One. Still, the small screen hides some of the shortcomings when you're on the road with it.

Over all, I'm happy with the capabilities of the Switch. It looks good at home, and for a portable system it's pretty amazing.

Eh it's underrated but it's still pretty bad.

What?? No Nintendo system has ever been underrated. If anything, theyre all overrated before they even release and then people realize the game library sucks.

This. The difference between "great" graphics and "amazing" graphics has never been that big of a deal to me.

It benefits greatly from the law of diminishing returns. Last gen to current gen was the least game-changing of any generation shift, and generally the least graphically noticeable, despite the exponential increase in power.

Underwhelming when playing it as a console. Pretty nice when playing it in handheld mode, imo. (I almost always exclusively use it has a handheld).

I think it's fine. It usually uses cartoony cutesy graphics that don't need an ultrapowered console.

Just about everything after around 2007 looks fine tbh. All this fuss about putting trillions of polygons into each model and running the game at 484757293729p is pointless.
