I talked to Mando about our situation today and it went pretty well.

It was pretty much like I thought. He said he is confused about his feelings. I said that is understandable but he needs to make a decision about whether he wants to see if his feelings can be rekindled for me or whether he wants to try to see other people because he can't do both at once. I can't live like that. He said he understood. I told him if he decided the former we didn't need to go back to labels right away and my priority right now is me and he said he agreed that was what he thought was right. I told him he didn't need to make a decision right now and he could think about it for a little bit so he said he would.

He also said he realized he didn't really have feelings for that other woman. He said he got really emotionally confused because she was giving him emotional support when he needed it after he hadn't had any in a long time from me. I said that was understandable.

I do want to be with him. I'm not over him, I'm very much in love with him. But I have to be realistic about it. I have to prioritize my recovery and make sure I'm working my program. Whatever happens with our relationship is going to happen. I can't change the past.

One time I took a nap during the day and had it happen to me three times in a row when I kept waking up. It was the worst experience I've had with it. It was so mentally draining.

Thanks for the advice. Good recommendations that I've only expirimented with and got mixed results. It just feels like to get a good nights sleep I need 4 or 5 drinks.

So you would be happy for him to be "with you" to see if his feelings change or not? Seems that's giving him a green light to use you as a stop gap. If he's even thinking about being with other people it's probably best you kick his arse to the curb no matter your feelings for him.

He is a victim. My illness isn't an excuse. I am a sick person but the way I behaved affected everyone around me even if it isn't who I truly am and the things I did I wouldn't truly do sober. He didn't cheat or have sex with her. He told me he never touched or kissed her. I told you guys I didn't know if that was true or not. But that is what he told me. You want to act like this situation is cut and dry but it really isn't.

You are absolutely right about that. That's not good for a relationship, but that's also very specific. But on a basic level, trust is important. And even if you say that you trust him, if there's any doubt, that's not good. But that's not to say you doubt him. And every relationship is different, of course. So, like i said, if it works for you, then that's great. Different strokes for different folks, yo! On the end, you both would have to trust each other. Just because you carry a lot of the blame doesn't mean it's all on you. It's a two way street, as they say...

Yeah, I've been working on it really hard the past 5 weeks and it's been great. I am doing a partial hospitalization program starting on Monday for my mental health issues and that should be a big help. It should help me deal with past abuse trauma which has been a big hindrance in developing my self worth as a child into adulthood.

Even for those who don't necessarily believe in some sort of spirituality, having a defined purpose or goal in life often times serves as a valid substitute for believing in fate/God/ a deity/etc; I think that "purpose" serves as a good catch-all phrase with something like this because in all reality, what else does a religion or spirituality serve but to provide a reason for existence?
