I just went to toysrus.com and they are no longer taking online orders. Toys R Us was huge when I was a kid. That's where I got practically all of my toys and video games.
I used to love going there and looking at all the video game covers they had on display, then taking a ticket up to the front counter to purchase a game. I was a big wrestling fan as a kid, too, and at one point, Toys R Us was the "official headquarters" for WWF merchandise. I collected the WWF Hasbro figures, and always looked forward to going there to see if they had any new ones that I didn't already own, and was ecstatic when I found one as I looked through the racks. The younger generation probably can't relate as they probably do all of their shopping online these days, such as with Amazon, and so they don't realize how great Toys R Us once was. It's very sad to see them go. I guess my childhood is officially dead. ... Copied to Clipboard!

though I haven't been to it in years, it's still sad to see them go. I remember as a kid they always seemed to be the biggest video game store around. back in the 80's and early 90's. before the rise of gamestop

I cant believe some wealthy individual didnt save the store. This was pure ***. Even though I havent been there in years it was an fun enjoyable store with lots of memories.
I feel bad for kids of future generations. They will not get to experience the store. Also, toy specialty stores in general are dead. Guess everyone will have to settle for slim Target/Walmart/etc pickings and online. Though there is no feeling like going to the store and witnessing the toys in their brilliance. ...
