mrduckbear 05/08/18 10:15:25 PM #1:	Have you heard of this website before? - Results (11 votes) Yes 45.45% (5 votes) 5 No 54.55% (6 votes) 6 Newsweek is reporting a rumour that supposedly circulated on the Gamefaqs forum where a user named Lazzyman predicted Nintendo's announcement of the Switch Online Service..leading everyone to believe that everything he posted was TRUE.. It said with the posting "Check Back This Topic on May 7th, it's gonna be proven right" There's a mix of information on the thread that was "too good to be true" and "plausible enough to be considered legit"..but the website says the rumours are in fact right and mostly WRONG. What it got right was the Online Service where he said the information would come out on May 7th..but while it was May 8th in Japan, the date was correct that it was referring to North America. Jack Merrick however said it was rather easy to predict when the news would drop since Nintendo normally makes announcements like this on a Tuesday after releasing its financial reports for April. He also predicted correctly that Nintendo would ditch the Virtual Console in favour of releasing NES games..but here's where he got it wrong. He stated that both NES and Gameboy Advance games would be available in Agust which contradicts Nintendo's official release plans for NES titles in September. They never stated that GBA games would be available. He also said Nintendo's chat service will work but that isn't true either as it states an existing chat service like Discord would be used instead.
