Probably because of time though. Nier is pretty expensive even though its an older game. I can find plenty of PS3 games for 20 bucks and its 35. Granted, not 59 but its Gamestop tbh.

I remember Xenoblade Chronicles being 80 bucks for the longest time.

Supply and demand. The game isn't sold new and used copies are increasingly uncommon.

Gamestop isn't your friend Tom down the street having a garage sale, they're a business. Why would they not price their merchandise competitively and try to gouge profits on rare products?

Go ahead and take a look at Melee on Ebay right now. Gamestop is actually a more affordable option unless you get lucky on a bid or a seller who doesn't know what they're selling.

At one point, they were selling Xenoblade on the Wii for higher than its original retail price ($50).

I guess they lowered it back, since there are other ways to play it now (the New 3DS port, downloading it on the Wii U).

This part triggered the fuck out of me because I bought XBC when it was expensive like three weeks before the $20 Wii U port was announced.

Melee is kinda big on the FGC scene, and is the only one of its series taken seriously. As much as I give its fanbase pure and utter shit for trying to turn a party game into a 'legitimate fighting game,' I can't deny the...particular proclivities...behind its popularity.

I bought Nier last month for $15, where are you seeing this?

Also, gotta love Fire Emblem Awakening at $45 used. Found a new copy at Target for $35.
