I am always a bit confused by this, like I spend 10 minutes writing a longer post, people read it fine, I spend 10 hours making a video I think is funny or interesting and people get mad for "self-promotion".

It's not a business, just something creative that I'd imagine people would like/enjoy more than just a message board post, yet it it received through a much more nefarious lens.

I guess it's because the yt space is oversaturated, but still I do find it odd how one kind of self-expression on the internet is welcome, but another kind that takes much more time and work for the creator and the same or less time for the audience is seemingly loathed...
