I dont think so. FGs require a much bigger need for matchup knowledge and predicting your opponents given the importance of frame data. Then you have stuff like character specific combos/resets/setups, okizeme, OS, meter management, etc.

While RTS do require insane APM and micro that does not automatically correlate to higher skill. FGs are dying because of both the barrier for entry and just how much dedication and practice it takes to be remotely competent and not just an online silver ranked warrior

In terms of barrier to entry MMOs, particularly Korean and European native MMOs are the worst in terms of complexity and hours needed with EVE Online being the worst offender.

RTS and Fighting games are comparably very accessible but take a significant and active investment to become good. RTS being the harder of the two, in my opinion, due not to APM, but rather the ability to manage many different areas of attention simultaneously. high APM helps but if you can't do anything except focus on what's currently on your screen then you're going to lose.

That's one of the reasons the AI is so fucking hard as they have perfect micro over all units everywhere.

FG and RTS, at the very least allow me to suck at them all by myself, generally anyway, unless it's a f2p moneyhole. MMOs usually do not.
