You guys would rather have a kid die over a fat friendless dude (who if he's a billionaire without friends must've either gotten through inheritance or exploitation so society doesn't lose much, maybe even gain) just to not look like a pedo? I mean, I can understand the self-centered money motive because who doesn't like money (though apparently you're not even guaranteed it in this scenario?) but allowing a kid to die because you say you aren't a pedo is a really weird and contradictory motive.

whats this motivation with saving the kids? in a code red scenario kids are fundamentally useless without the accompanying adults to care for them. big whoop, you saved a child, now are you going to raise that child too? I get the idea of childhood innocence but you're not doing that kid any favors with a guardian to care for them.
