The "Friendzone" doesn't exist. Women are more inclined to date a guy that she knows well. My brother married a girl who was his friend for 3 years before they started dating.

The problem with a decent chunk of these "nice" guys is that they're honestly not as nice as they think they are. They don't have the guts to flirt or ask their crush out, so they're basically pretending to be friends with her, hoping that if they do her enough favors she'll go out/sleep with them. The girl meanwhile thinks her "friend" is just that, a friend, because that's how he's acted and he's shown no romantic interest in her. Then when he finds out sex/a relationship ain't happening, he throws a tantrum and whines about being "friendzoned," garnering tons of sympathy while the girl is reeling from the blow that her "friend" was only investing time/energy into her hoping she would eventually put out. A truly nice guy would be bummed but not angry, and would probably still want to be friends if possible. Long story short, you'll have better luck with women if you make your intentions clear from the start, and treat them like human beings instead of walking vaginas.

This is usually a stereotype more than anything, but often the difference is that the "masculine" guy actually had the guts to ask her out whereas the "nice" guy didn't.

Because he's projecting his desire to be a couple on her to the public, so in return she is shutting him down in public. He's attempting to manipulate her family and friends into thinking they look good to her, so that they can help convince her to see how great he is. Either that, or he's trying to implant that idea in her head without having the balls to just come out and say it.
