A former classmate of mass shooter, Nikolas Cruz said that she tried to "befriend" him during their time together at their school but instead he CURSED her out and just OGLED her BREASTS the whole time!!

17 y/o Isabelle Robinson said she was insulted by the suggestion that the massacre could have been prevented if students were nicer to him. She survived the shooting where 17 people at her school were shot and killed as she wrote in the NYT that she was angered by comments online that implied that students were "partially" responsible for the shooting cause they didn't make an effort to socialize with him.

She wrote "the idea that we are to blame, even implicity, for the murders of our friends and teachers is a slap in the face to all Stoneman Douglas victims and survivors"

She hid in the closet during the shooting and recalls her first encounter with him in 7th grade where she was eating lunch one day in the cafteria when she felt a sudden pain in her lower back. Nikolas had thrown an APPLE at her.

She said "The force of the blow knocked the wind out of my 90lb body. His eyes were lit up with a sick, twisted joy as he watched me cry"

Ironically, she was also assigned to TUTOR him as part of a peer counselling program but despite the discomfort, she sat down with him..she said "I was forced to endure his cursing me out and ogling my chest until the hourlong session ended. When i was done, i felt a surge of pride for having organized his binder and helped him with his homework. Looking back, i am horrified. I now understand that i was left, unassisted, with a student who had a known history of rage and brutality"

She said that his problems ran much deeper than him feeling left out of social circles and that "students should not be expected to cure the ills of our genuinely troubled classmates, or even our friends, because we first and foremost go to school to learn. The implication that Mr Cruz's mental health problems could have been solved if only he had been loved more by his fellow students is both a gross misunderstanding of how these diseases work and a dangerous suggestion that puts children on the front line"

She says it's a weak excuse for the failures of the school system, government and gun laws.

Its just not necessarily true, or even likely. Usually everyone is scared of these guys, not shoving them into lockers, and attempts to befriend them get extremely uncomfortable because they are often racist, misogynist, hateful in general.

Ever been hit with a baseball in the lower back? An apple of similar size feels about the same when flung hard.It doesn't quite knock the wind out of you the way being hit in the solar plexus does but it does take your breath away in the "holy shit that fucking hurts really bad".

This is pretty much all that matters tbh.

The signs were clearly there for years, no one ever reacted to them.

Guns are easy to vilify, but the real culprits are those who failed to deal with the guy before this happened.

His family, the school administration, the local authorities and the FBI.

That's pretty weird. I'd have long since reported this dude. Is this just common behavior people have to put up with in Florida?

I have family friends who are teachers and former teachers. It's common to have to put up with students and their parents using nasty language towards them.
