I love GameFAQ's, but the unfortunate truth is that unless the game is an RPG or fighting game, the boards just don't stay active that long. Would love to discuss Mario things with fellow Mario fans (and haters), but the Odyssey board is already dead basically.

Eh, I don't get there often as I honestly don't visit game/system boards often, but it isn't as bad to me.

The Wii U board was as bad as the sales were for it. When a system doesn't do well, it really lends itself well to getting bombarded with trolls as they have a lot of talking points to make.

The Switch board is not really good for talking about Mario right now. Smash is going to be the game to talk about, so I don't think many will care for Mario right now.

I'd be up for it.

Unfortunately, whenever there's a new game announced it would periodically devolve into a cesspool of hate and trolling(like current system boards) before the game is released and gets a few months old so the trolls migrate for greener pastures to set fire to. So, there won't be any lasting/continuous enjoyment to be had out of it.

I thought there was a social board specifically about the Mario series, though it might've been one of those weird "secret" delinked boards that may have long since derailed away from any semblance of topicality.

Because sometimes I wanna talk about Mario, but there is not really a good community out there to talk about him. You type in Mario forums, and the first two that pop up aren't any more active than the boards here, so that is a bummer.

As I said, maybe I will try creating my own forum for platformers.

Is it? It didn't look like it. It looked like every one of those hidden social boards that is basically just a husk of repeated topics and incessant bumping for years, devoid of much if any content.

What makes the Mario board better than, say, Toaster Oven, a place that has for many years just been a small handful of people repeatedly opening jars containing stale farts at each other?

We get new people often enough. Especially since it became a community board. Luna is in fact relatively new
