Hey guys *sigh* I'm trying to make an email for a deviantart account and I can't because, well, *sigh* because I can't make an email without them wanting a phone number for verification. Google, Yahoo, Outlook...they all want phone numbers. Even Yandex wants a phone number! HELP! PLEASE!

I am sick of these big tech companies wanting phone numbers...that's personal info!

With all the darn data breaches, you'd think they'd get rid of the phone number verification thing. HELP!

That's personal info, you can't have my phone number!

*sigh* I miss they days where you could make 10 Yahoo emails in a day if you wanted. Those days are GONE!

If they don't actually require verification of the number, you can write pretty much anything that isn't all zeros.

I think they do require a verification. They supposedly send you a code.

Try ProtonMail, I don't believe it has a requirement to set up a phone number. The only downside is that if you ever have to recover your password you lose access to any e-mails pre-password recovery >_>.

Gmail doesn't require one. I helped someone set one up like 4 months ago and no phone was required.

I did try that but deviantart doesn't allow Protonmail.

More sites need to be like reddit-no email required!

Well this is just getting absurd, why would they care what e-mail service you use, especially one that's funded entirely by subscription and limits traffic (especially from free accounts).

I'd be shocked if Gmail at least isn't a giant datamine. It's Google after all.

zoho shouldn't require a phone number.

zoho's pretty cool, they even let you do free email on your own domain name if you have one
