All the people saying they just wanted to skip... sigh.
The walkout was 17 minutes, hardly skipping class.

Tell that to the rape capital of the Western world Sweden and all the women there who get raped in record numbers because they aren't allowed to carry a gun to defend themselves.

Allow them to carry scissors. A rapist castrated with scissors won't be raping anyone again, and nobody has to die

Lol this is the kind of utterly non sensical response that people who support banning guns makes in reponse to logical arguments based on facts.

Here's a counterargument - we don't carry guns in Canada and we don't have a rape epidemic.

Clearly it can't be because of the guns, or else we would

Defensive use of guns by crime victims is a common occurrence, although the exact number remains disputed.

Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals, with estimates of annual uses ranging from about 500,000 to more than 3 million.

[S]ome scholars point to a radically lower estimate of only 108,000 annual defensive uses based on the National Crime Victimization Survey, but this estimate of 108,000 is difficult to interpret because respondents were not asked specifically about defensive gun use.

Studies that directly assessed the effect of actual defensive uses of guns (i.e., incidents in which a gun was used by the crime victim in the sense of attacking or threatening an offender) have found consistently lower injury rates among gun-using crime victims compared with victims who used other self-protective strategies.

At the very least 108 thousand civillians used guns to defend themselves from crimes in the US per year, with all national estimates indicating that that number is between 500,000 and 3 million.

Then how is it that Canada barely has any deaths compared to the US?

Without guns, we don't need to use guns to prevent gun deaths. See how that works?

There's less crime alltogether in Canada because of several reasons. The main reason is there is less poverty. The US has more of every type of crime in general, but there would be even more here with people not being able to defend themselves at all.

We need to keep guns away from kids 18-22. These kids brains arent fully developed yet and they cannot practice safe firearm ownership nor do they understand how dangerous they are.

We also need to need to take advice from kids on gun control that are 13-18. They know best.

Leftist logic.

These kids should be protesting the government, the police, and the feds who failed to act, they knew the FL shooter was a serious problem and did nothing to stop him.

Guns are not the issue, law enforcement, and the feds failing to enforce the laws we already have is the problem.

They're not qualified to talk about gun control even when they're the ones getting shot at, but apparently they can substitute for mental health professionals.

Its not that fucking hard to tell the difference between right and wrong when youre a teenager.

Parents and teachers can do a better job of informing their kids to stand up to bullies and do the right thing.

Theres too much clique shit going on in Americas high schools. Too many kids stay quiet when witnessing bullying because they risk becoming the next victim or losing their friends.

Bullying is a worldwide problem.

Worrying about a student coming to class and gunning you and your mates down isn't.

Bullying is directly related to most school shootings.

Let's be real: Who here can say they had a positive High School experience? You never experienced any bullying or witnessed any? Or WERE the bully?

Raise your hand if everything went smooth and great for everyone in your school, and yourself.

Aren't those self-reported? I know there's not really any other way to collect data on defensive gun use but when you've got people like the Nose Hill Gentleman in the US I can't exactly rely on American testimony about just how necessary the gun was.

Not bullying people doesn't make mental health issues go away. You also can't force people to befriend those who they simply have no interest in, and it'd probably just cause more issues if you do.
