*or whatever assault rifle you choose

it's not like the government already knows every word you type or your exact location or will roll in with tanks and fighter jets or anything like that

it's the most pathetic defense gun nuts have and is an easy way to know that you don't have to take said person seriously

A small group of armed protesters made the entire federal government stand down.

Cliven Bundy today? He had all charges dismissed.

Imagine what thousands could do.

Eh? You dont think armed resistance would be a factor in a would be shooters decision making? Nor think it could end such a shooting early?

I respect your opinion but Im genuinely curious what the reasoning is there.

Woah, but according to some people, the government would just no mercy drone strike them and everyone would just move on. Or they would send in a fighter jet to carpet bomb the area.

I just don't think that a teacher would have enough training to be able to handle themselves in an active shooting scenario, being as even soldiers who are trained specifically for these scenarios sometimes have trouble doing so

I don't think people who make this argument take all of the variables into account. They just assume "Oh, this person has a gun, they can easily stop this other person who has a gun"

What if a teacher ends up shooting another teacher? Or shoots the wrong student?

So much shit could go wrong in that scenario, even if the teachers were properly trained

And let's not even get into the financial part of the whole thing

I don't even understand what you're trying to say here. I didn't say it did.

Also not sure what "the gulf wars" is. Is that like the Clone Wars?

I know about the Gulf War, which was a conventional war where government forces fought each other (Saddam's forces vs US-led coalition), not a revolution or insurgency which makes me wonder why it was even brought up (or, was attempted to be brought up).

Yes, the US military is good at conventional warfare. We could BTFO of any other country, really. It's not even something to be proud of or boast about, it's just a fact.

But fighting a revolution/insurgency is very different. And we are not too successful at it. And it being our own country and people will make it different still.

Youre right. Its best just to let the killer murder as many children as he can at will. Even though its been shown time and time again that as soon as armed resistance shows up the shooters most often either give up or blow their own brains out without the armed resistance getting off a single shot.

Anyone can be trained, many teachers are former service any way.
