Mine actually did increase by around $60 per paycheck. That's pennies though, and I got a feeling it's just there to keep people's mouth shut about the wealthy getting a bigger cut. Like here's some scraps.

All I know is that I'm a lot poorer than you Darkman, and I got an increase. Seems like everything is working fine for the less fortunate for once.

odds are many of the 'dont know' people are in your camp, squall. effect too small to notice. paul ryan wants to make sure you know though!

these days i mostly dont care but i do feel that so long as the general population is sour on the tax bill it should be seen as temporary, and equity positions will be threatened if dems are sure to take back the house/senate

market runs well ahead of current data so it will contribute to existing fragility. imo the next bear market will start when it's a "sure thing" that dems will win and kill the tax bill.

25% is a ton when you consider how many people are privately employed

It's not a ton when you consider how people should ideally see pay raises every year

Isn't the recent correction due to salaries being too high? Wouldn't killing the bill reverse that?

no

it's due to overvaluation of equities relative to their earnings, and inflation making bond yields high enough to actually compete as a place for money to go

I think this paycheck had the tax fixes, but looking at my paycheck, it also retroactively added in the decreased taxes from last month. So I'm still not able to tell how much I'm saving yet.

I question the validity of this poll. Literally everyone I know has seen an increase. These polls so often want to paint a specific narrative and either they consciously or subconsciously go looking for the "right" candidates.

I don't think everyone got a raise, though, but I think the percentage is wayy off.

I havent seen a change yet, but Ill wait until next paycheck. Even then, it doesnt mean that I actually get to keep the money that should be given to me. Im not really going to get into it all right now, but personally it hasnt helped me in the short run and I doubt it will help in the long run too.

I don't see the point of a poll for this when a payroll provider could easily show the actual percentage change themselves and eliminate any bias.

I got a sweet $11 net raise per paycheck. $22 per month. Hell yeah. Now I can buy even more indie games! /s

I also got a real raise from my employer, which was significantly more than $22 a month, lol

keep in mind that real raises as a result of tax reform freeing assets for employee retention is also a possible

i also got a raise, although my employer is a nonprofit so it's not tax reform related. my new role demands much more of me and they wouldnt be able to keep me if they didnt keep raising my salary

2 explanations:

1. Rising health insurance costs offset the tax decrease
2. Employers may not have updated their withholding rates. If so they'll just get a bigger refund on their next tax return.

Perhaps so. It's just so difficult to believe any polls these days. Time and time again they've been proven wrong or inaccurate.

Well, my pay stayed the same. I imagine most people would have the same pay..

but my take home pay increased by $139 a month. So i'll have an extra $1,670 a year...i'll take it.
