Is SNL funny?

i am trying to figure out the demographic watching snl tbh. i enjoy a lot of comedy based tv shows and standup but something about most snl episodes feels dated in style and not really funny. i rarely pay attention to it and actually don't know anyone irl that watches it (even people really into upcoming comedians, etc).. is it just me or what?

nope. Sometimes a good host can make some of it watchable. Havent had a strong cast since the 2000s

Depends on the sketch for me. However I'm not actively watching the show on a regular basis.

It's always been hit-or-miss, but the hit-to-miss ratio has continually gotten consistently worse through the years. At its start it was at least 50:50 (possibly even higher) for "hit" vs "miss", by I think the 00's it reached the point where it was one hit per episode, and now I think it's at the point where they have like one hit a year. The only sketches from the past 3 years I've seen & laughed at were the Dunkin' Donuts sketch & the Amazon Echo for old people sketch, which were about a year apart.

Not enough to say yes it is funny, but it has it's occasional moments. If Kate McKinnon were to just up and leave the show right now though, I doubt I'd bother putting it on anymore, even as background noise.

It's funny sometimes

It'd be more consistently funnier if they had more pre-recorded skits...but then it wouldn't be SNL

Kenan is probably the second best cast member on the show currently

I hate to disagree(?) with a Fam member... but he's right. It's sad & disappointing to say... but Kenan Thompson's performances on SNL have consistently been bad... very, very bad. Kel was always funnier than Kenan, but it's really sad on the SNL writers' part how Kenan Thompson's performances on a TV-Y7-rated show have always been exponentially funnier than his performances on a TV-14-rated show like SNL.

I remember watching it religiously when I was a teenager but then as i got older I stopped caring.

It's probably been like 8 years since I last watched it.

Idk about it nowadays, though

Usually not to never. It's pretty much atrocious anymore, and completely unwatchable. I'm stunned it still even exists and airs, the quality has been so low since the likes of Norm MacDonald and Chevy Chase starred in it.
