Early on when I first started my job, I had saved about $15,000 after 1 year. I used to give online friends $100s when they were in financial need.

Yes, like I just gave $1000 to my mother about a month ago. I wouldn't just give any of my friends cash though, honestly because I wouldn't want them growing dependent on me to bail them out of their poor choices.

Oh agreed. I gave someone online a few hundred dollars. He then became dependent on me. He would literally message me and say things like "Hey bro. Can I have $500?"

lent out my best buddy the equivalent of $3330~ for his wedding in may.

first and probably only time i'll help with that much money... iirc my mom lent out more or less the same amount to a decades long friend of hers which she had trouble getting back which ended their friendship and years later they're just "acquaintances".

let's see when(or maybe even "if") he'll pay me back. supposedly he'll get $16000~17000 from his parents as a wedding gift and i'll get them back by then.

don't really know what the arrangement is tbh.

doesn't help matters that it's an international wedding taking place on ibiza... as in everyone involved has to fly to spain and find their own accommodation etc.

would have been sooo much easier if they just stayed local xd.
