That one where they had to get a person to untangle some headphones before somebody ripped their pants off was both weird and hilarious, weird because apparently Murr normally goes commando and doesn't wear underwear at all but wore women's underwear for that bit so he wouldn't be exposing himself in a mall.

I loved the heckler's reaction

"Get fucking dressed you asshole!"

I love Impratical Jokers. I wonder how much of it is scripted though. On the other hand, pretty much all of the Carbonaro Effect is scripted. I remember on the first season the dude asked the chick if she's ever heard of the show called the Carbonaro Effect and she said "yeah that magic prank show on TruTV?" How the fuck would you know that if the first season didn't even air yet?

The conversations the jokers have among themselves are scripted, their interactions with the public are not as the entire point of the show is how their actions affect the people around them and their own reactions to having to do stuff around people like making Sal piss himself while locked in a room with strangers or making Q steal a bunch of pissed off metal fan's money by pretending to take cover charges or when Joe had to steal autographed baseballs from people.

Oh, and it gets better about Carbonaro, a show usually films for a year before official airing so not only did that lady know the show, she apparently knew it while the show was being filmed for the very first time. It's so fake it take me out of it and they don't make any attempts to hide it.

I saw one last night where Q's punishment was that they set him up as an artist ready to reveal the town mural for Dover, New Jersey. The mural was just "Dover Sucks" in large lettering

Impractical jokers definitely isnt scripted when theyre out doing challenges. The main caveat is that the places of business they do skits at already know theyre there, but that should be obvious. However, I think it worked a lot better in the first few seasons since at first they were absolute unknowns. In some of those behind the scenes episodes, the guys admit that its been a lot harder to film recently since theyre pretty famous now. If people recognize them, they basically cant or dont wanna use that interaction in the final episode so yeah. Also, there have been a lot of near fights on the show from people that didnt take kindly to the jokers but you only hear about them on the behind the scenes episodes.

Do they ever show people's reactions when they tell them it's a show in the behind the scenes stuff? Always wanted to see some of that?

ive seen them do it a few times. Its just pretty much them going "youre on the tv show practical jokers"

then a quick laugh then its off. I'm assuming the rest is just assistants asking them to sign forms

I wouldn't care if it was some of the assistants telling them, especially with the ones where people get mad, but don't have their face blurred. You know that they can take a joke. Just wanna see the "okay, you got me" reactions.

Not 100%. Gaki is a group of Japanese comedians who do stupid shit to each other all the time. They are mostly popular for their 24 hour "not allowed to laugh" segments where they are forced into this 24 hour game while the staff throws stupid things at them to make them laugh. The thing is, they often try to make their colleagues laugh too just to get them out. When they are "out" from laughing, they get smacked on the ass with an ass-bat.

Examples:

They watch "Doctor Jimmy" treat a leopard seal for hemorrhoids.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0BhWx51Neg

They give them a box of "eye" glasses.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kky2ciR7l7A

They give Tanaka a DVD that results in a punishment for him: (Though, the song text isn't subbed, but the important part is in English)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcpjiKWv0SM

This is outside of the 24 hour thing, but it is a game they have to act out scenes in reverse, then play them forward and see if they make sense:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gTUXdnNvxg

So yeah. These guys are love.

I love it, but never get to see it on a regular basis. My wife and I have tickets to The Tenderloins this summer so we're really looking forward to that

We did see a newer episode last week though where Q's punishment was to take the cover charge for people coming in to see a band. He then had to go hang out in the crowd and one of the band members go onstage and said that the show was supposed to be free and someone was scamming people out of their money at the door. He then had to deal with the angry crowd. Was hilarious
