Unfortunate that their very presence is a violation of the law, making every single one of them a criminal.

Following the law to a T would be impractical and unhelpful in a number of situations, not just immigration. Deporting the Dreamers doesn't have a public interest that merits its cruelty, IMO.

Unless you support fines for everybody who goes 5 mph over the speed limit and jail time for internet pirates, you don't believe in the absolutist vision of the law you claim ITT

Is it citizenship? Or do they bar the shit out of you for violating immigration law?

We're still talking about people with no legal standing in a system that dictates what happens to people with no legal standing, yes. The law applies equally to every person no matter their sad life story.

Our police and justice system already make decisions on what issues are priorities and which things are not. You can say that the deportation of dreamers would just be a cold application of law, but the law isn't coldly applied. And nor is it above criticism.

Im talking about grown kids. Ones whove been here say 20+ years, which is around what I feel needs to be an estimate to be a part of daca. Ones who recently entered should be deported as any other illegal as the been here their entire lives argument no longer applies.

There is definitely a compromise to be had there.
I don't see any 'deal' being made that immediately halts all illegal immigration into the USA after a certain date, nor do I see an implementation of that.
All I see is a precedent being set for illegally obtaining citizenship (and the next generation of a voter base).
