I reframed the question, and on the other end of the line, he paused. "Yes, innocent Muslims get caught up in that. Yes, the vast majority of them, especially in North America, are good people," he said quietly. "I don't want to alienate moderate Muslims."

Then why persist with the stereotyping?

"No, no! See? Now you're telling me how to behave in a society where we're under siege!" he yelled down the line. "This is victim blaming! This is victim blaming!"

first of all he started the proudboys and advocated for the Unite the Right rally until it got violent, and then he disowned it as a CYA measure.

you can hear the creator of the rally go onto his webshow and express disbelief that Gavin was pretending he was NOT a supporter of it after the violence.

beyond that, i think he is just a generally disgusting person. I am a longtime fan of Vice and have been reading it for probably a decade, so i am familiar with his work at Vice. I read his book The Death of Cool. I've watched a bunch of his videos on Rebel Media.

I used to think he was a pretty funny and edgy dude, but as I have been more exposed to Gavin I've realized what he really is, which is a truly despicable & unpleasant person who got by with his "punk" persona for a long time, until people realized that this was just him and not his gimmick

Gavin comes off as witty and a good debater. He makes videos that use sociology - the very thing alt-righters claim as fake news - to insinuate that brown people, non-binary people, and literally all women are unfit in many situations.

He suffers from Milo syndrome, because he spouts out politically incorrect rhetoric and uses that as his platform. But he tried to come off as more intelligent than the likes of Milo.

He also crosses Ben territory. He tries to use natural and social sciences to back up his claims, and uses apathetic argumentation to push his agenda. He is trying to come off as intellectually superior at all costs. What he fails to do, just like Ben, is hide the fact that he is a verbal warmonger poorly shrouded as someone with properly formed opinions.

Gavin is nothing but an entertainer, someone that found a niche of being rude in a way that other have done similarly - but not like him. He is amazing at what he does in regards to getting attention, but that is it. His arguments rarely ever hold weight when comparing it to real science analyzed with the scientific method in mind. He's also Canadian so LOL him.

He is maybe the best provocateur out right now. The Myles McInnes persona he does is quality satire. If he riled you up, thats what he was aiming for. He does quality English accents low key. Worst aspect of his - he denounces craft beer lol. Mightve done the best job on the Joe Rogan podcast of making Rogan almost come across as conservative himself.

Are we going to pretend that whole groups don't have differences between other whole groups that would generally make them less suitable for certain tasks than other whole groups; no one is speaking in absolutes... there's always gonna be exceptions.

He's a very witty yet stupid person. Very self-assured and very close-minded. He's only a good debater in that he is extremely aggressive in pushing his views and extremely capable of deflecting and misdirecting legitimate arguments against his point.
