Sounds insane, but Marvel games have historically been taken down from online stores before on several occassions. There's no ACTUAL reason MvC would be any different, it just feels like it should be.

Also MvCI is the most most damaging PR for Marvel games in a while. Deadpool and Xmen Destiny sucked much more, but those games left the conversation after a month tops, Deadpool not even a week. Half a year later and MvCI is still drawing ridicule.

I have a tough time believing it because this guy's first post on the matter was full of stuff like "This is because there was X-Men DLC but they're shelving X-Men for Inhumans" and stuff people started to be like "Wait, that's stupid." So then he made this current post claiming all of the stuff people questioned was a "joke" but it is getting shut down.

Fundamentally it's a solid game, but the conversation around it has and seemingly always will be around the ugly visuals and limited roster. It's never gonna shake that.

A lot of presentation issues, coupled with the fact that there are just many good fighting games out there right now that are stronger visually, have a better story mode, have good mechanics, and/or an interesting roster, while MVCI doesn't really excel at any of that.

I don't think it's bad, just that the competition (Tekken 7/Injustice 2/Dragon Ball FighterZ/Guilty Gear Xrd Rev/Street Fighter V Arcade) shows just how many flaws the game has

So I think it's fair to say this franchise is dead.

I wonder what this means for Marvel games. They killed Marvel Heroes, now this. They still have those Square projects coming, but it looks like the brand is becoming toxic in video games.

SFxT got a major balance patch but people still didn't like it which is why it's fallen into obscurity. But it's still a more respected game than MvCI.

Even through people claim the gameplay is good the main issue is that it's boring or confusing to watch. People tag way too much and it makes almost everything safe. The damage scaling goes to nothing about 60,000 damage so more advance combos rarely seem worth the effort when the bread and butter is just as effective, and most people pick Dante, Ultron or Zero so you see the same characters way too often (hence the meme Team Dulltron) Marvel failed as a spectacle and a esport, the two most important things they were aiming for (anybody remember that leaked esports proposal video? lol at it now) and missing out on Evo was the nail in the coffin for this game.

Visuals are Capcom's fault. Lackluster roster, story mode and poor promotion mostly fall on Disney

They did RE7, but other than that I'm not seeing much. They're still not bringing over a bunch of Ace Attorney games, which is putting them in a bad spot to me.

The game itself was fine but it just reeked from a lack of creativity. It was MCU vs Capcom with a bland art style and a roster that lacked diversity.

Both DGS games bombed in Japan, even by AA standards, so I don't entirely blame them for being wary that it wouldn't make them any money if they localized it.

and now the fan translation is going to suck
