Ive hung out with plenty of lesbians casually at house parties and clubs. The lipstick variety or bi girls are always normal enough. Butch lesbians are hit or miss. Most are still nice but some arent very fun to hang out with. Thats just been my experience.

I really dont want to expand on the idea because the mods are like cops with itchy trigger fingers lately.

Women so have a tendency to invade homosexual men's places so it isn't always good.

I've never seen any real common issue with men and lesbians at least from my pov. But I know more gay men anyway so it's harder to judge.

some gay men get along fine with women
while many others can demonstrate some of the came catty, bitchy, backstabbing behavior some women show towards each other

some gay women do openly support misandry along with hypocrisy that aligns with their agendas
however, many lesbians are not the ugly man-hating butch activists used in so many political caricatures
there's a significant number of lesbians who get long fine working and socializing with men without issues

Whereas straight dudes would still be attracted to lesbians, so lesbians might be a little more uncomfortable with them.

My experience: every woman I know has at least one, sometimes two, very close male friends who are also gay. Not bear gay... gay gay, as in effeminate gay. Not a single guy I know has a very close lesbian friend. Yes, they get along with lesbians and have them as classmates or coworkers. But they are not in the best friends category, which the gay guys are. I dont know why this is, but I never really gave it much thought until TC made this thread.

in my 2x years experience as a gay dude it's common because for some reason there is a large section of the female population that wants to have a gay best friend. it's actually one of the first things girls usually tell me when they find out im gay. most of my straight male friends have little to no opinion on lesbians or they are friends with them but ive never heard one of them say they really want a lesbian friend.

I have lesbian friends. I'm a guy.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, that makes sense. The women I know seem very proud of their gay friends and love to include them in whatever theyre doing. I have never heard any of my guy friends say they care at all about lesbians, let alone to have them as close friends. Most women who brag about having gay male best friends are guilty of the same "exotic" tokenism of dating someone of a different ethnic group/race just for novelty and potential praise from peers. They're basically saying they're proud of using the gay men as accessories. And social media, unfortunately, still rewards that behavior. Even by a portion of gay men themselves who say "lol that's okay, I don't mind, we're besties".

There's thousands of heterosexual women who boast online about how progressive they are because they have at least one gay man as a best friend. They think this automatically grants them critical insight within lgbt discussions. They think they're suddenly super supporters of civil rights just because they approve of a few liberty movements for gays. And my personal favorite: they think by learning a few of their gay male friend's gendered quirks that it's a roadmap to why men in general act in the ways they do, as if there's no huge differences between how straight and gay men operate. There's tons of women who think of their token gay male friend as a translator for the world of men. And it's a long explanation why that's a fallacy, not even gonna bother, but it's sadly a common misconception these women have.

To top it off, there are also women like this who will on one hand say that we need to be 110% on board with allowing marriage and parental rights between gay men, while at the same time basically crapping all over on discussions about serious male rights issues...that um, coincidentally happen to also commonly affect gay men.

Like for real, most of these bitches are fake as fuck when it comes to acknowledging some of the biggest issues that rake gay men over the coals because a bunch of those issues also target the big bad straight male. It's why I'm cool with girlfriends who are down with me being gay, but don't tokenize me for it in our social circle. That's how I know they're legit and not bandwagoners looking for social media points.
