probably because many nerds on twitch do it in a harassing way because twitch is "THEIR" place it "isn't fair" that girls stream on it...or something...I've never understood the outrage. All Twitch streamers do stupid shit that isn't gaming related and they love it but the moment a good looking girl comes on so many of the twitch audience throws their hands up and says "WTF TWITCH BAN THIS"...

There's a lot of diverse groups of people in the world but now Twitch wants to moderate them all on their own, rather than just allow people to separate and create their own communities that they moderate for themselves.

I don't like it when people who don't know what a word means get punished just cause people assume everyone knows

I really didn;t know it had a negative connotation. I thought it was just a job description. a girl who appears on cam and streams. if i made an account I would be banned. this is how it would go down

I go to a stream and tell her she's my favorite cam girl
get banned

"but.....why?"

Twitch: you know what you did

"no....I don't"

Twitch: get out of my sight

I would never even think of looking up the word because I thought I already knew what it meant. that's why I would get banned. I'd be totally innocent and they would attack me just cause I didn't know the most up to date slang definition for cam girl. A word I always thought just meant a girl on camera

how do you expect me to KNOW somehow that I don't know the word? I am saying that I thought I already knew what the word meant. nothing in my entire life has ever led to me to think cam girl meant anything other than what I thought it meant. saying I am supposed to magically know I am ignorant (which is a logical impossibility) is just silly. you are making no sense. and you are victim blaming. you are saying it;s ok to attack people just cause they aren't aware of what the internet thinks a word means. a truly innocent mistake is to be forgiven not ban the person.

how am I supposed to know I was wrong if I thought I knew what the word meant? what would make me even think of "I should look up this random word for no reason just to make sure it means what I think it means" out of all the words in the english language? and why are you defending the act of banning someone you know did nothing wrong? in this story, you as the reader, are told outright by the narrator the at the person is innocent and didn't mean any offense. and then you respond by saying it's fair to ban them.
