There are LEGIT reasons for getting rid of drivers licenses.

The #1 reason? Licenses don't prevent dangerous people from driving at all.

They are also a hassle to obtain, cost money and resources, etc.

It's all a big waste that adds no value in return.

Lmfao yup @sktgamer_13dude is right

I'm going to need you to shut the fuck up.

People shouldn't have to pay money because they wore a seatbelt a certain way. School buses have seat belts that only go around the waist. Some cars have waist seatbelts for middle seats. I can't believe people are this anal about this.

I'm over it, but I'm still pissed at any clockhead that wants to defend this nonsense. I better see every car with a baby's car seat facing forward get pulled over now. For their safety!

I never really understood how people can just not wear a belt or not have the strap across them. Aside from the obvious reasons I just feel naked when Im in a car without it. How did so many people develop this normal feeling of not being secure in a car?

Because there was a time where it wasn't law to wear them, and many people feel it's a bit fascist to even have such a law. Non seat belt wearers aren't putting anyone in danger but themselves so I see their point.

They actually do put others in danger. If they are hit and moved from their seat there is no way for them to break if the car is still in motion. If they are ejected, that is an extra object in the road that people are going to swerve to try and avoid hitting. If there are passengers, the unbuckled person can become a projectile and cause further injuries to others in the car.

But laws are laws for a reason. Wearing the seatbelt over your chest like normal has a higher chance of saving your life opposed to just the lap belt. Im sure if you got into an accident, that $100 ticket the cop gave you wouldnt really matter if your life was spared opposed to dying. I mean, statistics suggest that lessening the legal limit from .12 to .10 and then again to .08 might not have had a positive effect on making the roads safer overall.

However, it HAS resulted in a SHITLOAD of people losing their jobs and paying upwards of $10,000 in fines and fees.

So let's say every year thousands people get a DUI and have to pay lots of money and some of them lose their jobs. As a result, no lives are saved. If that's the case, why is it a good thing that we are giving out these DUIs?

Remember, cops are a finite resource. If they are out looking for people who driving @ .08, then they aren't out looking for other offenses. You have to consider all these things.

I stand by my statement

I actually agree with fender on the BAC thing. It's not like people who are going out and drinking are using breathalyzers on themselves, coming up way over the limit, and then driving anyway. It's just people drinking too much and then getting in a car and driving. You don't hear about people at .10 getting arrested for doing crazy shit, it's always people at like .20+

You dont need to wear a seatbelt if the car wasnt manufactured with one the same way your car doesnt have to meet modern inspection standardsjust the ones it had at time of manufacture. So you arent getting pulled over because the cops dont know for sure either what the standard was at the time or whether you are wearing it.

Also that sucks TC. DWB

But the reality is that most people do NOT like being hassled by the police for things like this. They don't like being treated like a criminal for simply not wearing a seatbelt. It makes people feel uneasy and it makes the society we live in feel like a police state.

If being treated like a criminal is what it takes to potentially save your life, the ends justify the means. Even if its just 1 death that was prevented, that life being spared is more important than your feelings. Stop being dumbasses and you wont get treated like dumbasses. Were not talking about littering or spitting on the ground here, were talking about something that has saved hundreds of thousands of lives.
