Am watching it with my kids for their first time, and my first time in many years and...

I dont remember it being THIS cheesy. And it wasnt like I was a kid when it debuted, I was 18.

Most of the Peter Parker scenes are cringe-worthy. In general, I assume it was goofy to evoke the old comics and to give the whole thing a more cartoonish feel, since the Batman films not long before it were knocked as being too dark.

A lot of the scenes are over-acted (Aunt May giving Peter his money back), most villains are evil because they just randomly went crazy (and the crazy ones *always* talk to themselves because that's what crazy people just do, apparently), and everything is over the top.

That said, the first movie wasn't that bad, the second was pretty fun as well, and even the third has its moments. ASM1 was better than all three, but ASM2 was probably behind the first two Spidey films.

I rewatched them right before the new one came out

I still love them but I definitely had my nostalgia googles on, they aged p badly. Spiderman 2 is still one of the best comic movies though

Spider-Man 2 was the BEST.

Not really, although it was a solid portrayal of Doc Ock and that bank fight scene had some great choreography.

First movie was alright, a solid stepping stone. Pretty decent, not amazing (hah). The 2nd one was actually really good, especially for its time. A solid improvement. 3 was bad and rushed, I think everyone knows this.

ASM1 was ok, just ok. I'd rate it slightly lower than the first original movie tbh. 2 was about as bad as original trilogy's 3....perhaps more-so.

Spider-Man 2 is easily the best of the trilogy while the first one is cheesy it's not half-bad either.

The only problem with it is the stupid scene in the cafeteria where he learns he has web sacs in his wrists or something which is dumb, at least Amazing Spider-Man does it right and correctly depicts Peter as a smart guy who invented his own web formula.

Spider-Man 3 is a train-wreck but at least it got to a trilogy compared to the second Amazing Spider-Man 2 which killed that series.

No emo Peter Parker automatically makes it better than 3. Both of them suffered from trying to cram in too many villains. That and ASM2's downer ending kinda killed it for casual viewers. It was also a stupid move since the first movie *also* ended on a down note.

It was such weird casting in general, considering Eddy Brock is usually depicted as being a lot bigger than Peter. Granted, I got a good chuckle out of his church scene.

The only thing I really remember about those movies is Jameson being great. Jk Simmons had a lot of fun with that role.

Jameson is one thing the trilogy nailed absolutely perfectly. Every other movie will either pale in comparison in that department, or dare not try at all.

ASM1 is the only decent Spidey movie.

Although, I haven't seen ASM2 or Homecoming.

tbh, the lack of JJJ in ASM was a bring-down, but nobody could top JK Simmons.

I forgot Homecoming, probably because I haven't seen it. But ASM1 > 1 >= 2 > ASM2 > 3 otherwise.
