On a Saturday off work, I was out doing errands and started feeling shitty. I ended up going home, couldn't sleep, and felt awful. Sunday night, Monday morning came and I still hadn't slept, so I called in sick to work and my boss said it was no big deal, take a few days if I had to.

At this point, I was starting to hallucinate and was losing track of time. I remember trying to solve a Rubix Cube that wasn't there, at one point. I THINK it was Monday afternoon I had collapsed into a puddle of blood and was too out of it to know what was going on. Wednesday morning at about 3 AM, I called a local Health Services hotline and told them that I had been coughing up shit for a few days and not sleeping. They told me to drive to the nearby Urgent Care Center (BAD MOVE, I lived right by a hospital and should have called an ambulance. She should also have known better after my story).

I roll in at bullshit o'clock in the morning, with dried blood on my face and clothes, telling the on-duty nurse that I've been feeling like shit for days and not sleeping. She, unsurprisingly lost her shit and immediately got me tended to.

Turns out I had a severe blood infection from pnuemonia, which caused a fever, giving me hallucinations. I was off work for almost two months, and had to get IV-administered antibiotics for three weeks. It goes without saying that I almost died from it.

I had some kind of lower grade pnuemonia back in late 2016. It lasted for about 3-4 weeks, and at the height of my sickness, I was coughing so much that I could barely sleep. For about a week, I was going off about 1-3 hours of fragmented sleep a day.The fever made it worse. I was becoming delirious by that point. I'm telling you, sleep and rest never felt so good once I was done with that...

I had a similar sickness that went on for about a month back in 2012 or 2013, also at around the same time of year. The coughing wasn't as severe, but I had a runny nose (more like an open faucet for a nose) and probably went through 2 full boxes of tissues. It was an awful, awful cold. What's worse is I seemed to catch it TWICE, which is why it went on for so long. My symptoms got better for like a week, then suddenly they worsened again and I had to deal with a couple more weeks of coughing and runny nose.

I actually rarely get sick. It usually only happens every few years or so. But when I do, I tend to catch the worst bugs...

When I was 9 my family was in a horrible car accident. I was hurt the worst of everyone, but all my injuries were internal and I was in shock so it didn't specifically look like I was hurt badly. Cue many doctors and medical staff deciding to simply not check if I was hurt at all. I got sent home the next day, but it turns out my intestines had been severed by the seatbelt and had also damaged my spine from the impact. I mean, imagine getting hit in the belly so hard that it actually impacts your spine. I was told later that if it had fully broken my spine that I would've been completely cut in half(not totally sure I believe that, but eh). Anyways, I couldn't eat, drink, or sleep because of that. I was in constant extreme pain and even after repeated trips back to the hospital, they still didn't actually check if anything was wrong. This went one for nearly a week, by this time I was wishing for death. I couldn't think straight and was mostly out of it. One final trip to the hospital and they recognized I was at death's door. This time they figured out what the problem was, I had gangrene from my dead rotting guts that had been festering for a week... So emergency surgery to remove a bunch of my guts, and I was on the road to recovery. I was told that I wouldn't have survived the night, that it was literally on the verge of being too late to save me. I also had to go through physical therapy afterwards due to my back injury.

I still have very painful problems from that. About once or twice a month, my guts cramp up just like they felt back then. I'd definitely rate it 10/10 on the pain scale. I hate it so much, it basically paralyzes me and sometimes I think I'm dying from it still.

What your father said to you about it is the worst of all. And the paramedics. You just wanted help and they abandoned you on the side of the road. Sometimes I watch doctor dramas and think "wow, doctors should watch this and learn how to be better to their patients, especially children". My heart aches everytime you post this story :'(

Yeah, the day of my surgery was the day I truly learned my dad wanted me dead. Paramedic thing was a misunderstanding I think though, still was bad.

a while back i got a bad case of diarrhea. it was like shitting water. every 25-30 mins i had drop what I was doing to sit on the toilet for another watery dump. nothing solid ever,

In good news I somehow slept through the night without this happening in my sleep, which was certainly not the case yesterday. However in my 15 minutes of being awake I've gone to the bathroom twice already so my stomach has decided today is more of the same.
