It was an amazing show. Season one was done much better though. Season 2 felt rushed and it was obviously rushed when I looked into why it was the last season. Stupid HBO cancelled it before the second season even filmed. They were contracted for 2 years and that was it. So they had to rush out an ending. Which sucks terribly because there was sooo much story that could have been told in season 2. Easily should have been 2 season's.

Yeah HBO did not have their shit together back then.

The Sopranos ending is a joke and Deadwood never got any kind of closure at all. You can tell the writers had no idea the show would be cancelled.

If I remember correctly, the problem was that the producers were under the impression that they were going to get four seasons, and then when the show got cancelled, they basically took a ton of stuff that was supposed to happen in the last two seasons and crammed it into the second, so you wind up with what is basically three seasons worth of plot all at once.

It's definitely jarring, and kind of mars the show as a whole, but it was a pretty good series in spite of that.

that happened to Dollhouse too. in the middle of filming the last season (which was season 2 I think) they were told they were canceled. so the last like 5 episodes is basically a rushed summary of what was planned to happen over the course of many seasons.
