Uptown Funk bothers me because it seems like it's trying too hard to be good, and don't get me wrong I like the "don't believe me just watch" part but it's like they put all of the eggs into the basket for that song, if that makes sense. What if I love dancing, but just don't go to clubs that play everyday pop songs? Seriously, if I have to pay for overpriced drinks, I'll make damn sure it's not at a club that plays songs that get played on every station 24/7.

There are about a dozen genres. Techno, house, electro, trance, dance,drum and bass, dupstep, hardcore,... Many of those even have a ton of subgenres. We called it by those names decades before the term EDM started popping up. That term still isn't used here.
I hate it as much as I hate calling everyting featuring a guitar and drums "rock", there's a clear and major difference between Elvis and Metallica.

My first post in this topic shows I don't. Dude has catchy tunes. I took issue with the statement that not liking pop songs means you must not like clubs or dancing. The kind of clubs that don't play artists like Bruno vastly outnumber those that do here.

As a stereotypically rythemless white guy I can honestly say I don't like him. But I fail to see how my feelings about or abilty to dance have to do with that. There's still plenty of music people like to dance to that I enjoy. His music just doesn't sound good to my ears.

That's awesome! Still doesn't change the fact that statement doesn't hold much water when the clubs that do play Bruno are vastly outnumbered by those that don't here.
