Yeah, the Hobbit got to the point and had some really cool scenes to read. I do think the Lord of the Rings books as a whole are very dope though, you could tell Tolkien was kinda throwing everything out there, which was great but sometimes the narrative got clunky. There were also some sections which were frankly boring.
