I wish I could have that feeling again...

me and my dad had to travel to another town to track one down. so I was pretty excited when I got my hands on one. I think I played nothing but mario 64 for at least a month

However, getting my Playstation for Christmas in '95 is one of my best childhood memories.

It's amazing how fun you could have in that game by just aimlessly running around.
When I was young I remember just running around in the castle/levels and doing the same missions over and over again.

My first exposure to the N64 was at a friend's house. He had Ocarina of Time and some golf game, I think? I liked the golf game more because I couldn't figure out how to play Ocarina of Time. I didn't own my own console until the GameCube. We were poor.

I remember at about this time having an English class that wanted us to write any random ol' thing like a journal once a week that was at least two pages in length. I remember deciding to basically write a guide to Mario 64 over the course of several weeks.

Can't remember if it was brand new or bought used. At any rate, I got it reasonably close to release. And, in general, I may have owned a NES, but I'm more nostalgic about SM64 than just about anything on the NES or SNES (granted, LttP is one of my favorite games but that's not just nostalgia)

I got mine for Christmas when I was little and I remember feeling all my presents and there was a big one that I thought was a n64 but it was really a new bed sheet and comforter in a box, and the much smaller box was my n64.

The only games I got were Banjo kazooie, which was better than Mario 64, and Mario kart. I remember playing the absolute shit out of it with the neighborhood kids.

mine came with the see through purple controller, no game.

it wasn't until my birthday, 6 months later, that i finally got a game for it.

nope. my brother had nes. we went from that to ps2. (iv'e played most of the old consoles, just never owned)

I got it the day after launch... my buddy's dad knew a guy. They were hard to get, so we felt pretty cool. People resented us. It was great.

I couldn't tell you which game I played first on the N64. It may have been Mario 64, but tbh I was never really a fan of it.

I have tons of nostalgia for Ocarina of Time, Super Smash Bros, mario party and mario kart 64 though.

Actually I got a used one with a box full of games on Christmas. Best Christmas ever right there. Some games I remember were Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Doom 64, and Goldeneye 007.

I got mine in January 97. First game I owned was Pilot Wings 64 and I played the shit out of it.
