The gauntlet with those walking brain-things that inflict frenzy was a nightmare. I've never been so mad at a video game before. Basically, my already simmering frustration with how powerful grapple attacks are in this game was combined with that being the only move they do apparently, on top of the rapid build up of frenzy they inflict. I died so many times there.

It's funny because when I finally finished with that area, I moved on to make it to Mergo's Wet Nurse (an absolute joke of a fight, by the way), and got invaded by a dude named "Willy". Fairly certain it wasn't an NPC invader, but I wrecked his shit pretty hard. Felt rather cathartic. I also beat Ludwig the Accursed last night.

yeah those guys freaking suck. frenzy builds faster the more insight you have btw, so if you know you're about to face them spend as much of it as you can. or just use that item that makes you resist it

Then it takes forever to go down if you don't have the item to cure it. Felt good getting past those parts though. What weapons are you using? I maxed out Ludwigs Holy Blade as soon as I could.

I'm using the Blades of Mercy. They wreck a lot of shit.

Yeah that part sucks. Even fighting them perfectly forces you to use up frenzy pills and blood vials.

I just made it to lady Maria. You know, she's not even the most difficult boss in the game. I had much more difficulty with that Ebrietas bitch.

Wait till you do Chalice dungeons.

Martyr Logarius isn't a fun fight. His first form gave me trouble until I figured it out his movement patterns, and then his second form was a pain in the ass until I could figure those out. Unfortunately, these bosses don't give you a lot of time to figure out their patterns. It's like throwing yourself against a brick wall until you find enough of a hole to crawl through.

I'm now at the Orphan of Kos fight. He feels beatable, and that's the important part. I haven't been able to do it yet, but I'm inching closer to beating him. Learning what he does is very painful. I'm going to have to go farm some blood echoes so I can buy some more blood vials.

Not as much as Ludwig's, I'm afraid. I've tried out both. The BoM don't have any stagger power which hurts playing stoned.

A good way to combat those assholes is to hide until they're close. Then parry them and visceral. By the time frenzy kicks in, the visceral will heal you.

The first time I went through the DLC was on NG++. I died to Orphan so much it hurts.

Eventually you start to get better and better at him so that you can more easily get to his last phase where he beats the shit out of you.

Finally killed it. Fucking hell. Getting to its 2nd form wasn't an issue, but then he would essentially go "Omae wa mou shindeiru!" 3/4 of the time, leaving me without any room to react. What a horrible boss.

I know. His first form is adorably easy, to the point where I wouldn't need to use a single blood vial on him. His second form is where I had the most problems. I had to take time out to level myself to BL 88, and then had to pray to Bloodborne to not RNG me to death.
