The Discord? The Discord is hella active, though most of us have moved on from MHW and it's turned into a general one, basically. I think the in-game squad is empty, according to Menardi.

I've been playing for a couple weeks. Just got triple-carted for the first time. Wtf Lightning Horse. Low rank my ass.

I still play, just not that much since I don't really have much to do as I aim for HR 100. Fought Deviljho, who's fun but obviously not super difficult for anyone who's already cleared the main game. Probably going to make his GS and armor set because I love the way it looks. Currently working on the Kirin beta set as well.

It took me 30+ minutes to kill the low rank Kirin when I had a HR in the mid-40s.

I'm still at like 11. That Pukei-Pukei is the only HR thing I've taken on so far, and I thought that since the Kirin was low rank I'd start there. Not a great idea. I think I did get somewhat close since it went up to that high plateau to sleep it off, but then came the electrocution. It's frustrating because I wasn't having much luck attacking it from behind, but then when I try going after its face I'm eating bolts before I can even react. Then I'm stunned and he hits me again and gg. Think I'll put that one on the back burner for a while, then try to come a little more prepared.

So I got two weapon augment streamstones from just one go at the Tempered Deviljho event quest.

Got over 200 hours and I think I've done everything I wanted to except augment my GL which is too grindy for the right stone so I'm taking a break until more content drops.

Theres an event quest making a return on the 6th where you can collect lots of tempered elder tracks. Think its called Tracking the Delivery.

Update: took him down in 20. Had level 5 windproof so that helped.

Yeah, I could have been more prepared. I like to go in blind the first time and adjust on the fly, but 'adjusting' in this case meant spending most of my time bouncing off and staggering around like I was drunk. It was a little frustrating. I much preferred Teostra and Nergigante. Vaal Hazak will be today's challenge.

Of course that's probably a little silly when you're taking 40 minutes to beat one monster, but I want to take all these fliers out at least once without flash pods. Insect glaive pride, you know.

Teostra was the third monster to triple-cart me after LR Kirin and Black Diablos, but on my second run I got the hang of it and did it without a cart. Fast and hits a bit harder than Kush, but no lame gimmicks like filling half of the screen with tornadoes. I thought it was a fun fight.

Now I can beat a tempered Vaal in 4 minutes and Diablos is the only monster that I consistently have trouble with for whatever reason. Dudes a douche.

I think a lot of it comes down to weapon, which I like because it demonstrates the different playing styles. Black Diablos is my nightmare monster so far, but I was kind of surprised how difficult some people find Nergigante and Rathalos. Rathalos is a giant punching bag for the IG when he takes to the sky. I gave up on trying to MP Nergigante after three straight fails, but solo he's pretty easy for me. Can't wait to get to the tempered monsters to test my mettle.

Took out Vaal Hazak. Took me a little over 30 minutes. Fainted once. Pretty soft and fleshy, but that health thing he's got going on is annoying.
