Every single scummy thing that happens with the game, which is an ever increasing list, there's people defending bungie. So many people saying "so what, who cares."

No matter how much that happens, no matter the reaction, this is why companies will continue to do things like this and ultimately get away with it. There's always enough people who buy into the bullshit and buy the microstranactions and whatever else, that nothing will ever ultimately change in the industry short of the whole industry collapsing.

Warframe is destiny but good. Even implements a micro transaction model that doesn't really bother anyone. The overwhelming majority of players never spend a single dime on the game. The deva actually bother listening to the community too.

Warframe is a 3rd person shooter, it seems. 3rd person shooters and first person shooters have extremely different gameplay. Nobody would be claiming that CS has the same type of gameplay as SOCOM.

An FPS MMORPG hybrid is extremely rare. Don't know if there's really been an attempt aside from Destiny before.

What scummy things specifically? All I can think of is locking some of the modes when the DLC came out.

Someone used user data readily-available through Bungie.net and discovered that less than 20% of people who own Destiny 2 are still playing it and even a just a fraction of those still left only log-in more than a single day each week. The game is on life-support. I cringe each time someone claims that "Destiny 3" will get it right because there is not going to be a Destiny 3. The series is dead.

Vanilla Game
- no dedicated servers and no 60fps when you earned millions upon millions of dollar money and still none of these things in a 2017/2018 game
- No New Subclasses or Classes overall. Take away the most powerful subclass (Defender) and replace it with a bad Subclass (Sentinel)
- Weapon Slot and Archetype made very horrible
- no more Heavy Machine guns
- Taking away entire Trials for a week to fix an issue with an emote when it could be done in a matter of hours. Not only was Trials not avaible for a week, but they needed 8 hours of maintenance on the reset day to fix the bureacratic walk emote
- Sticky Grenades nerfed in PvE so PvP is balanced. In other words: They refuse to make seperate nerfs for PvE and PvP when they are a multimillionair gaming studio and have quite a few million fans
- only 4v4 Crucible and no option to choose the game mode you like
- cannot see other players connection bar
- lying about the EXP throttling and then doubling the amount needed to rank up in hopes people buy Bright engrams
- Eververse is the endgame content right now
- exotics feel very weak (exception made for Orpheus Rig, Nighthawk etc)
- no random roll perks on weapons or armour
- very bad system replaced to old good system of intellect, discipline and strength
- Duplicate exotics and duplicate Iron Banner items so people keep playing the game in order to chase the items they want
- Amanda only sells Green and Blue gear and the only way to get Legendary Ships or Sparrows is through Tess Everis
- No Raid specific perks on Raid gear
- content that should've been in the game sold as DLC: such as Private matches or Heroic Strikes etc
- Locking away Vanilla content and forcing them to buy DLC to have access to it, until fans spoke against it. Examples: Iron Banner, Trials, Factions, Raid and Nightfall

Curse of Osiris
- no modifiers on Heroic Strikes
- very bad DLC. Barely any story. Mercury patrol zone is boring
- 200 new items added and 150/200 are in Eververse
- Token cap on Public events so people don't earn Faction tokens so quickly. If you want this nerf to be gone then buy the Exotic Ghost from Eververse that Tess is selling this week. But it's 2850 bright dust which most people probably don't have so might aswell buy Silver with real money to have a proper Faction Rally. There is currently a cap that you cannot earn x amount of Tokens if you do Public Events too quickly.
- no new items in Faction Rally and nerfing Lost Sectors so people cannot gain tokens so fast. In hopes they buy the Exotic Ghost.
- Factions and Iron Banner only appear 2 times every Season. And every Season takes 3-4 months.

Developers themselves:
- Deej making himself look like a fool by saying: "most rewarding public event" and only 2 tokens and a blue pop out
- Luke Smith saying: "Destiny has never been in a more perfect state than Destiny 2"
- Noseworthy, Deej and Luke Smith saying: "Yes, we know the issues and we are investigating. Earliest fix for that issuea can be fall 2018 or early 2019."
- other developers: "Yes we hear you."

The people that are saying "who cares?" aren't the problem because they don't care about most of that shit. They're playing casually at this point and none of that shit bothers them. They're also not the ones buying things because they don't give a shit about cosmetics or sitting there trying to get tokens for hours.

You're attacking the wrong people. There's plenty of folks that still play everyday and they're the ones paying for things. Go after them because they do care. They care enough to pay extra money for a digital costume.

Video game fan boys are the worst.

I remember trying the CoD WW2 beta and absolutely hating it and posting my predictions around the Steam discussions board for the game, about the timeline in population decline and the probability that there would be massive cheaters and they wouldn't rectify it for at least a month if at all. And people told me to stop trolling and being an asshole.

And now, even *earlier* than I expected the population to drop and hackers to take over, those same idiots who spent $60+ on that garbage are parroting the same things I was saying (just with worse spelling and grammar). I don't browse those forums very often but it is very satisfying to fire off an "I told you so" every once in a while. Equal parts depressing to see them talking about how they can't wait for the next game in the series.

None of those are games I would migrate to that could hit the itch D2 would scratch.

I played D1 to death and gave up on it before the last dlc. Decided against getting D2. It blows my mind that they could get so much criticism from the first. Learn from that criticism and fix the issues with The Taken King and make it a really solid game. Then literally regress all the way back to vanilla D1 with D2. They apparently learned nothing.
