I have no idea what to do. The cops didn't help and they have 5 giant security guards that block the door and won't let me leave.

This is illegal in NY and no one is listening. I've messaged local news outlets but no response.

I'm only 31 and had a heart attack from stress. These people are purposely doing this now because some nurse came up to me without permission and started putting my clothes on. So I got really pissed and complained to her supervisor and within an hour, the whole hospital turned on me and they're giving me a hard time with everything.

Please help someone. Should I call and consult a lawyer? Could he help? I'm thinking he'll gladly help me sue once I leave here, but I'm just stuck here because they keep increasing tests when I was supposed to be discharged

I'm unfamiliar with NY law/health but are you being detained under any sort of mental health act? About the only way the hospitals in my state (in Australia mind you) can do something like that.

Yeah, Mental Hygiene law. They pulled an old psychiatrist's record where I had told him that I had trouble keeping showers under 2 hours. That was 8 years ago when I going through a bad time.

New psych said "you used to take 2 hour showers and would think about getting pneumonia. That shows you're a danger to yourself and unfit to leave"

They literally have all the power here. I don't have any problems. I'm sane as possible.

Heart Attack @ 31?!

They not gonna discharge you until they do something like put you on blood pressure pills + monitor you or give you a pacemaker or something.

The stress when you leave will still be there and the heart attack is likely to happen again. They'll discharge you when theyre ready.

Another thing is I don't think people get heart attacks at 31. Seems to me you could be a walking study. So you'll go through various tests to determine how to remedy whatever condition youre in.

They hit 1.2 to 1.4 to 4.6 and this was after the attack. They took their time to work that out. The problem I came in for is resolved. Now they are just keeping me just for the fuck of it. The psychiatrist is even acting like he's getting pleasure. He tells me things and asks me to pick an option and then says it's your freedom. Then says, "I can't discharge you unless you pick option 1". Then he comes up with new choices and forces me to accept unreasonable things "I need to speak to all your friends and family" for me to discharge you.

Dude, I had an unknown female force herself into my room who started pulling my shorts up when I was half naked already. I told her to stop and to get away from me and she didn't listen and kept trying to grab it. Flip the genders around and the guy would be destroyed.

They forced me Haldol 3 times at 2MG in 4 hours. It didn't affect me at all. So I asked for Ativan 1MG. No affect.

Barring an actual serious problem (which to be honest, anyone worth their salt should be hesitant to say on here), it doesn't entirely add up.

But then again, as I said, I don't know the laws for hospital detainment in the US.

It's not adding up because it's illegal. You need to be incapacitated to be restrained. They are simply basing it on me taking showers and saying I wanted pneumonia (I never meantioned that). This was enough to deem me unfit because I don't want to stay in patient for OCD treatment. There's no body here to double check this from any outside sources. What they say is the truth. They've lied to me several times during this trip. Stuff easily disproved in their own handbook.

Only court can dismantle their BS. They know what they're doing is wrong. They know no one is going to do anything. They are doing this probably so they can destroy any story of me being touched like that to convert themselves. "Oh, he's crazy, don't believe him"

Nope, there are documented cases of teenagers getting heart attacks, though obviously those usually have extreme extenuating circumstances. Early 30s? Happens.

You're being difficult which exacerbates the problem

Just comply and be polite to them and if they don't let you out immediately, just wait and sue

Anything else is unnecssary and will make your stay very long

Comply? 8 days in-patient psychiatrist when I've been living my life completely fine? With no guarantee they just won't make it worst and keep delaying?

Terrible diet, no exercise, overweight. All possibilities. Generally healthy people don't have heart attacks at 31

It was just stress. All my other stats are completely normal. That's why they were so confused.

Stress is one of the big causes of heart attacks you know.

A lot of signs of paranoid delusions, the creation of conspiracy theories to gain control over an uncertain situation, the presence of OCD-induced stress to medical emergency-levels, anti-social and combative behavior. The Hospital may or may not be in the wrong but the TCs behavior is somewhat alarming as best as I can tell.

Because I came in for a heart attack and they're keeping me for psychiatric reasons. That reasoning started right after the nurse.

I got an angioplasty. All 4 doctors were excellent and we were all joking and talking about Bitcoin vs Ripple and how the one doing my surgery is all in BTC, and the other one monitoring me said BTC will fall and Ripple was the future. They told me that once I get back to my bed, I can walk around, but to keep my arm straight.

The nurse just jumped to conclusions and started telling me to lay down because I'm not supposed to stand when 4 doctors just told me 20 minutes prior it was fine. I said I wanted to grab my pants, but instead she pushed her way behind me and started pulling up my boxers thinking those were my pants. My pants were on the chair. I said to stop touching me and kept pointing at my actual pants and she didn't stop till I got loud.

Is that supposed to be acceptable behavior? No means no when you feel like it?

Going by stories of this happening to others including a friend's cousin, I'm just being cautious. And the fact that before the nurse thing, I was to be discharged after my echo, and after talking to that supervisor, all these psychiatrict things got brought up? It's not like I chewed out the supervisor. I calmly told her it was wrong and she said she would speak to her.

I was calm with everyone and lots of people actually enjoyed talking to me.

I have to manage a lot things in my life and it causes a lot of stress. I manage several family business, as well as my investments. Lot of paper work and things like waking up at 3 AM to take advantage of Asian crypto markets, or taking a wrong position and losing tons of money, etc etc.

Of course people who just sit around and play video games all day don't have any stress.

I got out last night. My lawyer came and got them to discharge me immediately.

I'm going to sue the fucking shit out of them. Lawyer says I have a good case because of some of the good steps I took to protect myself.
