Say, you'd prefer to eat Indian food made by an Indian, Japanese food made by someone from Japan and American food made by Americans?

i like it to be good

also implying someone has to be of a certain ethnicity to make an authentic dish is backwards and bigoted

that being said, if i'm being TOLD that the food is authentic, then it better damn well be

I find that westernised versions are more likely to be watered down and bland and tend to be more expensive. When I traveled Asia there were lots of overpriced expat owned restaurants marketed at tourists when you could generally find much better food at some tiny cantina with home cooked food. It's not so much who makes it but you can tell a lot by who else is eating there.

i give 0 fucks if food is authentic or not
if it tastes good, great
if it doesnt give me diarrhea, great
if i find out that the authentic version of x food tastes better than whatever version ive been eating, great, i'll probably buy that from then on
