Why are stupidly huge pickup trucks seen as status symbols? Everyone I know who has one can only afford it because they're leasing but they all put so many miles on it they'll have to buy it or be stuck in an endless loop of leases with higher and higher payments.

In my defense, I do a lot of hiking and camping. Driving on sketchy, gravel covered mountain roads in a Taurus was fucked up.

Also, the Jeep is nice in SW Pennsylvania's winter.
