Now I dont want to be stuck with some garbage flip phone from the mid 2000s with zero features, but I also am not in the market for say an IPhone X either.

Probably gonna go ahead and get an Android phone. What are some good options? Especially ones that have good battery life, screens that dont implode or turn distorted/grainy hideous looking/feeling messes from the slightest exposure or drop, and arent packed with bloatware.

Camera quality is of minimal importance to me. Screen Size should be at least medium. 500$ would probably be my absolute ceiling and would probably try to find a sale or contract deal making the phone cheaper. Removable battery and MicroSD card comparability are nice.

If you're looking for something to get basic stuff done then check out the Moto G4 Play.
Definitely a budget device, but it does "budget" right - it makes smart choices with the specs so it doesn't feel like you're using a piece of shit. (5" 720p screen, SD410, etc.) Along with having good battery life, the battery itself is also removable.

Also it has official Lineage OS support, meaning it won't be a problem to stay current with Android versions/security patches. Motorola are bros and literally help you unlock the bootloader to their phones.

How is the Moto E4 plus? Its a tad more expensive than G4 I think but it has a fingerprint scanner, and is water resistant.

Honestly thinking I am gonna go with a Moto phone of some sort. Seems to hit most my needs at a 150-200$ or so price range.

Easiest thing would be to get an older model iPhone or Galaxy S. Maybe something from the iPhone 6/Galaxy S6 era - those were flagships just a few years ago.

E4/E4+ are basically a continuation of the G4 Play concept - pare down the specs to a point where it's really affordable, but it doesn't feel cheap. Yeah, it has a fingerprint sensor, and I don't believe it has any IP certification but the battery being non-removable means it'll be a bit more resistant regardless.

E4+ is great if you want stupidly long battery life. Hopefully you're in the US, because the E4 line has Snapdragon processors in the US and Mediatek elsewhere in the world - Snapdragon is better for custom ROMs. Mediatek is ass.

Yeah live in USA. Motorolas website says it water repellant. It just needs to be resitang enough to hold up to moderate rain exposure, moderate sweat and moderate splashing.

Motorola Droid Turbo 2 is a solid phone. Excellent battery life, big screen, indestructible, good specs, and good camera. Probably only a couple hundred bucks now since it came out in 2015.

I but all of my phones used. A flagship phone that outperforms any budget phone, and often in the same price range or cheaper. But a "Like New" phone that has lived its while life in a case and you'll never look back.

Just a thought.

Yeah, E4+ is probably better then. I live in Oregon and my G4 Play has never had an issue with rain though so, make of it what you will.

Why is a Gplus trash?

It isn't a flagship so it's not an option for people who have been tricked by phone companies into thinking their choice of smartphone is somehow an extension of their identity.
