I think the takeaway here is people like TC have dirty houses since they're ok wearing shoes that have been outside in there

My wife cleans all the floors once a week.

This. That's gotta get filthy. Especially if it's winter or has been raining.

On another note, I don't know how that could be comfortable.

First of all, where do you people live to drag of all these dirt in the house?

I know in Canada in my cousin's house we leave the shoes at the front inside of the house. You guys make it seem you live your shoes and etc like outside or something like that. That is fine.

people have the right in their house, to ask you to take your shoes off, just as much as you have a right to not go inside

Most people have somewhere inside for you to leave your shoes in too though. It doesn't have be literally by the doormat. It can be a little shoe closet thing or shoe rack or whatever. Personally I have a little closet after immediately walking in with shelves for you to put shoes on

I went over to my sister in laws today for a birthday party and she told everyone to take their shoes off. I scoffed at the notion and told her it's rude to request that of guests. What if someone has foot odor, what if someone has nasty feet or holey socks they're ashamed of? What if someone doesn't want to walk around in everyone's foot sweat and other nasty floor stuff? Not only that but in this case the whole house is hardwood. Not that I think it matters if it's carpet or hard floor, it's rude either way, but in this case it literally made no sense.

Its their house. Are you serious right now?

Same principle. Youre being asked to do something completely reasonable in a house that someone else owns and youre refusing to do it. You my friend are the ass in this situation.

Or if you dont like that example because Oh smoking is deadly for other people and my shoes being on isnt how about this one then? Its no different than you being in someone elses car and them asking you not to touch the radio. Its their car and its a very reasonable request. If they dont want you to touch the radio you dont touch it.

Its just a cleanliness thing. No its not going demolish your floors after one time but you do drag a lot of dirt and what not in on your shoes. Over time it builds up. Its especially bad if you have a carpet and have to shampoo it far more often than if you just dont wear shoes.

I know someone who keeps a little basket with these shoes things by her door that you just slip over your shoes (like they use in the operating room). She has a pretty light colored carpet. So u can take your shoes off or put these on and throw them away when you leave as they are disposable. Even when they had contractors in working on her furnace they used them.

Yea, I have no idea what TC is smoking... like when I get home from work from the factory, I take my shoes off before I come inside... I don't leave my shoes outside, I bring them in with me and place them in the designated shoe basket or shoe closet, usually its what we refer to as the "utility room" where the washer and dryer are at.

I think TC is self concious about his hygiene / nasty old socks or something. To solve the issue you're having TC you take a shower daily, use soap on your feet, and change your socks daily.

Socks cost less then $5 at the store.

I never want to go to other peoples houses. If i go then they asked me or invited me. If its a group/party im wearing my shoes or going home and youd better never ask/invite me again.

If its a very small gathering or if im going to a friends house and itll only be me and them (maybe their family) or its not their house and they ask me to take my shoes off: fine.
