I notice that in some cultures, the households are multigenerational.

Depends on the situation. Like right now I'm 23 and I've been back at my parents' since December but only because I just got out of the military and didn't want to deal with rent before starting school in March. But if they didn't have any sort of plan and were just loafing around hell no figure it out.

Absolutely. Although at age 21 they should be away at college. I'd let them come back home after graduating though as they try to find their footing and get their career started.

I'd let them live with me as long as they wanted so long as they were independent aside from that, as in contribute towards bills / housework / food ect, I'd never put a child of mine out on the street

If they're disabled or something or were working and had a plan in place then yes. But I wouldn't let them freeload and do nothing with their life. It would be tough love.

Pretty much what everyone else said.
As long as theyre contributing or have a plan going forward then absolutely they can live with me as long as needed.

Id like them to work and build up some savings to buy a place rather than dump money into a black hole renting somewhere

If he pays me, or there's some kind of contract binding that will make him pay me.

If he's on hard times, why not?

If he's just trying to freeload probably not

Yes but only if they were going to school or doing something to work towards independence imo.
Then again many of the neighbors here have kids that are my age and they still live at home (I don't know how since these houses aren't that big).

I do but I help with the house and have a job. And it better than paying over seven hundred too thousand dollars for a studio apartment here.
